Caring for God’s Creation: Environmental Stewardship & Protection (ESAP)
In Genesis 1:28 God tells us to be faithful stewards of creation. And thus our relationship with God’s creation is part of our worship of Him. ESAP encourages all parishioners to care for, respect and embrace our natural world — as a means of getting closer to our Creator. We welcome parishioners of all ages — children, teens, adults and our trusted elders — to join us in upcoming community-wide events that will include: clean-up, beautification, reforestation, beach clean-up, sustainable gardening and restoration projects in our parish community and here in Monmouth County; promoting best practices to help make our parish and our homes more green and environmentally sustainable; occasional screenings, guest lectures or walking tours related to pressing environmental challenges; opportunities for enrichment and a greater understanding of environmental stewardship as central to a Greek Orthodox life.
