Stewardship
2008 Commit Form 2008 Time and Talent Form
It is truly fitting that we hold our annual Stewardship Sunday on Palm Sunday. Just as Jesus is preparing to make the ultimate sacrifice for our salvation, we are reminded to make our comparatively small sacrifice for His Church. We are once again asked to commit a portion of our time, talents and treasures to His beloved St. George Church as a way of expressing our sincere appreciation for all that our Lord provides.
While we focus much of our planning and fundraising efforts on our new St. George Church and church complex in Ocean Township, it is of paramount importance that we not forget to support our current church operations and ministries. Please remember that your Stewardship helps support the salaries and benefits of our parish priest and employees, our facility upkeep and utility expenses, Sunday School, Greek School and our GOYA.
Through the end of March, our Stewardship contributions are 23% below last year over the same period of time. The uneasy economic climate and ever increasing cost of living we are all experiencing may be legitimate reasons for this shortfall, but our Church’s expenses also continue to increase. In addition, two months from now, we will lose the significant Charter School rental income we have come to depend on for many years.
For all of the above reasons, it is more important now than ever that we all generously support our St. George Stewardship Program. Please help us replace this shortfall by increasing your Stewardship for 2008. If you have not yet made your Stewardship pledge for 2008, please take a few minutes to make your commitment of support today. Please feel free to contact us anytime to discuss our Stewardship Program.
We thank you for your continued support for St. George Church.
