The Daughters of Penelope is an international women’s organization, an affiliate of the Order of AHEPA, and is considered to be the leader in philanthropic, educational and cultural activities throughout the United States, Canada, Greece, Cyprus and Australia. Aulis Chapter also worked diligently to raise funds for St. George, support District and National projects, such as St. Basil’s Academy, the Penelopean Girls’ Home, which later evolved into the Penelope House for Abused Women in Mobile, Alabama. Throughout the years the Daughters of Penelope have given generously to the following charities: Papanikolaou Cancer Research Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis, Thanksgiving food baskets, hosting the annual scholarship ceremonies with presentation of AHEPA Family scholarships to graduating high school seniors. The Daughters also contribute annually to both the operating expenses and the Building Fund of St. George.

The Daughters host numerous annual fundraisers known quite well within our District such as the Children’s Fashion Show and Gift Auction, Spanakopita Bake Sale, Breakfasts and the Ahepa Family Lenten Luncheon. Throughout many years of service, the Daughters of Aulis 195 have always remained steadfast and dedicated in their goal to serve their church and surrounding community.
