St. George - GOYA

The G.O.Y.A. of Saint George is and has always been, one of the most progressive and fun organizations of our St. George Community. Since its inception and to this day, our G.O.Y.A. has always maintained involvement in State Youth programs and events, which include boys basketball league, girls volleyball league, Junior Indoor & Outdoor Olympics, Sight & Sounds, Mr. & Miss G.O.Y.A. Pageant, Overnight Retreats, Folklore Dance Festival and Oratorial Festival.

Over the years our G.O.Y.A. has maintained special events that have brought our community together such as the Sights & Sounds Show, Comedy Night, Holy Cross Celebration Souvlaki Luncheon, Food Drive and Christmas Caroling. Our G.O.Y.A. through the years has made donations to our Building Fund program to support the bright future of the entire St. George Parish, as well as other donations to community outreach programs to help those in need.

Upon the departure of Fr. John Rallis in 1996 our Church was faced with many years of instability at the pulpit, which in turn had a great effect on G.O.Y.A. participation and direction. This pastoral instability had put much-added burden on the shoulders of G.O.Y.A. advisors that served our Youth steadfastly during this time period. As we have finally achieved stability at the pulpit direction of Fr. Andrew Eugenis and with dedicated advisors our G.O.Y.A. has also achieved growth with spiritual direction.

Along with untiring efforts of our priests, advisors, officers, GOYANS and their families, our G.O.Y.A. of St. George has been and will be, a beacon of light for youth ministry. This light of faith in Christ and our fellow man establishes memories and friendships that last a lifetime.
